The Pavilion for All is a unique opportunity to give an area in transformation an open and civic structure that supports physical activity and wellbeing. The pavilion is meant as a welcoming gesture, a shelter emerging from the fields, which together with the proposed network of smaller dugouts will encourage spectators and enthusiasts to spend time outdoors and watch the women of Brent Cross prosper in sports.

The timber structure is kept in place using foundations built from recycled tyres, and upcycled gabions form the landscape and seating areas. The combined use of glass and polycarbonate in the upper floor cafe, together with the thermal mass of the soil and rubble surrounding the lower floor, ensures that the internal spaces are warm during winter and that solar gains are reduced in warmer months. Rainwater is collected and used for irrigation and flushing while PV panels and ground source heat pumps deal with the energy and residual heating requirements.
